The instant it landed on my skin, it reminded me of the original Opium, but that lovely spiciness was VERY short-lived; replaced by a sweet muskyness (but not in a good way). But there was worse to come: an almost fishy note that was just as persistent as it was unpleasant, accompanied by a fragrance headache that I'd experience when Dior's original Poison flooded the fragrance market in the 80s. Whatever happened to the floral notes I was looking forward to remains a mystery. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I want to give it to someone that I don't like very much, but I wouldn't want them to think I actually hate them.

It then takes a while to start giving me nice whiffs of it for a bit, but it fades so quickly it's honestly not really worth the effort. Have tried it a few times now and am always underwhelmed this way. Not sure if that's just how it is, whether mine was faulty, or if I go noseblind to it too quickly.

Reminds me of an old Avon perfume **Update: this actually did settle finally into a beautiful and unique smell, complex and exotic. But it took two hours to settle and felt like the scent started fading the second it settled. So while a beautiful scent in the end, I won't be buying it.
